Unique Activities in Henry County

If you’re finding it difficult to keep your family entertained throughout the remainder of the summer, Henry County has you covered. Several local businesses, including the Locust Grove Emporium and Olive in a Bottle, are offering unique, family-friendly activities that will keep your kids busy while encouraging their creativity at the same time.

Speaking of creativity, The Creativity Café will undoubtedly inspire your inner artist. Throughout the summer, they offer an art camp for children and workshops for adults, which cover a variety of topics, including painting, sculpting, and more. In a similar fashion, Crumbles Bakery is offering a camp for artists of another kind — aspiring pastry chefs. The camp is held weekly, Mon-Thu, and students will learn how to make cake pops, cookies, and more. Yet another cooking activity, Olive in a Bottle offers monthly cooking classes to help you add some diversity to your traditional choice of cuisine.

Panola Mountain State Park offers a variety of activities year-round, but one of the most interesting and popular activities are the archery lessons. Classes are offered every Saturday and Sunday, where an archery specialist will teach you the proper form for a perfect shot using a bow and arrow. No experience and no equipment is necessary, which means this activity is perfect for the whole family!

I hope you try out some of Henry County’s creative activities this summer!
